Md. Sariful Islam is currently working as Research Associate at Reproductive Health Services Training and Education Program in Bangladesh. He has extensively involved himself in research work on different development issues. He holds the position of Director at International Youth Council Bangladesh, and is the joint coordinator of Dhaka University Park of Community for Human Development Bangladesh, which works on the issues of nonviolence and peace. In addition, he is member of some national and international youth organizations.
He is the Bangladesh Correspondent of the Sri Lanka-based international news agency Earthlanka that works on environmental issues. In addition, he is one of the Worldwide Development Reporters working for the Finland-based Global South Development Magazine, and is associated with the editorial body of Pressenza International News Agency.
Sariful has active involvement in organizing and coordinating several youth-led projects. He is serving as Youth-wing Coordinator of Dhaka Metropolitan Police-Youth Cooperation Series and works towards building youth-police relationships. He has a strong interest in social development through leadership, volunteerism and social services. Ten years from now, he would like to see himself as a fully-fledged, young, renowned development activist with an international profile, who will represent his country too.
