In the meantime, Australians continue to consume more illicit drugs.

Try a new approach: a transferable civilian Suitability Clearance.

1:50 workers are on ice, 1:36 regularly using illegal marijuana. This is a ticking time bomb: drug users on their way to work, or a counterproductive workplace behaviour in the workplace. Duty of care and compliance regulations are a big deal. The trend is clear – enhanced integrity checks are needed and required in all spheres of work and activity.

There is a unifying standard contained in the PSPF. It is being neglected to society’s peril. A police check does not satisfy the suitability indicators of maturity, tolerance, loyalty or resilience. It is not wide enough or deep enough to consider the seven factor areas in the PSPF Vetting Practices Adjudicative Guidelines (which ICAC NSW refers to as the better screening practice).

A PSPF-compliant fast, fair, better way could be a transferable civilian Suitability Clearance.
