Abhiroop Chowdhury is Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean (Student Affairs) at Jindal School of Environment Sustainability at Jindal Global University in New Delhi. Since 2007, he has been associated with mangrove conservation and alternative livelihood initiatives in the Indian Sundarbans as an Environmental consultant.

Abhiroop earned his PhD from IIT Dhanbad, India, and he has also published several articles on heavy metal pollution and mangrove conservation issues in the region.
