Agnieszka Nelson

Currently seconded to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) in London as Lead Analyst in Children Families and Disadvantage Directorate, Agnieszka Nelson is also Sir Roland Wilson Foundation PhD scholar at the Centre for Social Research & Methods, ANU College of Arts & Social Sciences. Her thesis — a quantitative enquiry into the impact of welfare conditionality — seeks to understand the effectiveness of recent welfare reform initiatives in Australia.

Before joining ANU, Agnieszka was employed by the Department of Social Services (DSS) as director of evaluations where she led a team of researchers managing major social policy evaluations. She has previously held a senior research officer position at the National Centre for Social and Economic Modelling (NATSEM) and is a fellow at the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute, Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University.
