Allison Witter is a PhD researcher in the Fisheries Economics Research Unit at the University of British Columbia’s Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree from McGill University in International Development and Economics (Honours), and was sponsored by the European Commission to complete her Master of Science degree in Environmental Policy at Lund University, Sweden. A member of UBC’s Ocean Asia research team, as well as the OceanCanada partnership, Allison’s research focuses on seafood value chain analysis and enhancing local benefits from fishing, through collaborative projects with community partners.
