Dr. Bo Hu is a research officer at the Personal Social Services Research Unit (PSSRU), Department of Health Policy, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He finished his PhD in Social Policy at the LSE, UK in 2013. Prior to this, he completed his PhD in Economics at the Nankai University, China.
His research interests include policy implementation, social governance, educational inequality, long-term care demand and financing in the UK and in China.
Dr. Hu uses both quantitative and qualitative methods in his research. His research has been published in academic journals such as The Journals of Gerontology: Series B, Environment and Urbanization, Health Economics, Policy and Law, and Health and Social Care in the Community. His book Educating Migrant Children in Urban Public Schools in China addresses the key question of why some Chinese government policies with good intentions cannot be implemented effectively.
