Christian Barry is Head of the School of Philosophy in the Research School of the Social Sciences at the Australian National University, and Co-editor of the Journal of Political Philosophy. His research focuses on international justice, and includes the books Responding to Global Poverty: Harm, Responsibility and Agency, (co-authored with Gerhard Øverland) Cambridge University Press (2016); and International Trade and Labour Standards: A Proposal for Linkage, (co-authored with Sanjay Reddy) Columbia University Press (2008).
Prior to joining the ANU, Christian was a program officer at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs (Justice & the World Economy), Editor of its journal Ethics & International Affairs, and a consultant to the Human Development Report Office at the United Nations Development Programme. His work has been supported by grants from the Ford Foundation, the Research Council of Norway, and the Australian Research Council.
