Danish Sheikh

Danish graduated with degrees from NALSAR University of Law and the University of Michigan Law School and worked with the Alternative Law Forum, a collective of human rights lawyers based in Bangalore  before joining the International Commission of Jurists as a legal consultant.

He has worked on issues relating to LGBT rights, free speech,  anti-discrimination and the intersections of law and literature and has served as visiting faculty at a number of law schools across India.

His writing has appeared in the Hindu, the Indian Express, the Oxford Human Rights Hub, Frontline, Business Standard, Deccan Chronicle, Himal Southasian and Kafila, amongst other publications. His academic work has been published in a number of journals including the Yale Human Rights and Development Law Journal, the Asian Journal of Legal Education, the Socio-Legal Review and the NUJS Law Review.
