Darcy Allen

Darcy Allen is an institutional economist focused on the economics of new technologies. He is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the RMIT Blockchain Innovation Hub in Melbourne.

Dr Allen has published on blockchain across academic journals, books and conferences, regularly appears as an expert witness before parliamentary inquiries, and his research has featured widely across national and international print media and radio.

He is an Academic Fellow of the Worldwide Blockchain Innovation Association, an Adjunct Fellow at free-market think tank the Institute of Public Affairs, and an Academic Fellow at the Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance.

Dr Allen is a former magazine editor, sits on the editorial boards of academic journals, recently edited a book on Australian regulation, and has a forthcoming book, Cryptodemocracy: How Blockchain Can Radically Expand Democratic Choice. His PhD was passed outright and won the university-wide prize for research excellence.
