Dr David Brewster is a Senior Research Fellow at the National Security College, Australian National University and a Distinguished Research Fellow with the Australia India Institute, University of Melbourne.
He writes widely on Indian strategic affairs and maritime security in the Indian Ocean region. Recent books include India as an Asia Pacific power, about India’s strategic role in the Asia-Pacific and India’s Ocean: the story of India’s bid for regional leadership which examines India’s strategic ambitions in the Indian Ocean.
His most recent paper is India and China at Sea: A Contest of Status and Legitimacy in the Indian Ocean, which looks at the India-China maritime dynamic. It is available here.
