Dean Ansell is a PhD Scholar at the Fenner School of Environment and Society, The Australian National University, having spent the past 15 years working with both government and non-government organisations on biodiversity conservation and natural resource management in Australia and internationally. His PhD focuses on the cost-effectiveness of biodiversity conservation in agricultural landscapes. His research also involves on-ground evaluation of the cost-effectiveness of ecological restoration projects in farmland in southeast Australia. Along with colleagues from ANU and several institutions, Dean is currently writing a book on agri-environment schemes in Australia.
