Denis Ginnivan is a former president and foundation member of Voices for Indi, a community group based in northeast Victoria, which seeks to encourage citizens to engage and participate in politics and democracy. He is also co-chair of Totally Renewable Yackandandah, another community group, which maximises opportunities for renewable energy uptake in his beautiful country town.
Denis has always lived and worked in rural Australia. He is the director of Events That Matter, a business focussing on landing important rural events and strategies.
In 2014, he undertook a five week study tour of changes in the US political landscape.
Denis is a Churchill Fellow, former rural financial counsellor, and national director of the farm-focussed Rural Counselling Resource Centre. One of his Churchill reports was instrumental in the development of farm debt mediation legislation and programs, which now exist in four states.
