Dinuk Jayasuriya

Dinuk is an Adjunct at The Australian National University and Research Director at Red Elephant.

Since 2013, Dinuk has been or is currently the principal investigator on research and evaluation projects commissioned by the Australian government and the Asian Development Bank. These include being the technical lead on multiple projects in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Philippines. Between 4,000 to 30,000 people have been interviewed in each country and in most cases, tablet devices have been used to collect data.

In 2014 and 2015, Dinuk was an advisor to the Asian Development Bank’s Impact Evaluation Committee.

From 2009 to 2011, he was employed at the World Bank Group as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.

He has consulted for the World Bank, IFC, ADB, Australian Aid, the Australian government and multiple Red Cross Societies.

Dinuk holds a PhD (focusing on evaluations) and Master in International and Development Economics from ANU and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne.
