Farzana Choudhury

Farzana Choudhury is a community lawyer and human rights advocate, specialising in poverty, homelessness and disability rights.

Farzana is Supervising Solicitor (Disability Law) at Canberra Community Law, President of the ACT Law Society, a member of the Law Council of Australia’s Access to Justice Committee, and a member the ACT Law Society’s Access to Justice and Inclusion Committee.

She has been involved in a range of justice initiatives, including establishing a legal education and advice clinic for women in prison, setting up Canberra Community Law’s Mental Health Justice Clinic, and investigating the application of poverty discrimination law frameworks as a 2019 Churchill Fellow.

In recognition of her professional and community engagement to support people facing barriers, Farzana was awarded ACT Young Lawyer of the Year in 2019 and ANU Young Alumna of the Year in 2020.
