Gloria Lai

Gloria Lai is the Regional Director of Asia for the International Drug Policy Consortium (IDPC), a global network of over 170 civil society organisations advocating for evidence-based drug policies based upon principles of public health, human rights, development and human security.

She is based in Thailand, and works on promoting open, evidence-based and inclusive drug policy dialogue amongst civil society organisations, international agencies and governments in Asia.

Prior to her role with IDPC, Gloria worked as a policy advisor in the Australian Government Attorney-General’s Department and Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (as it was known in 2009) focusing on illicit drugs and people-smuggling, and as a lawyer for the Australian Government Solicitor.

In 2011, Gloria completed the Erasmus Mundus Masters Program in Public Policy, sponsored by the European Commission. She also holds Bachelor degrees in Law and Asian Studies (Chinese) from The Australian National University.
