Dr Ojha is currently the Director of Institute for Studies and Development Worldwide (IFSD) in Sydney, and is also an Associate at the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance, University of Canberra, Australia. His research spans areas of international development, environmental governance, and public policy.
He has worked in Nepal, Afghanistan, India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Cameroon, the UK, and Australia. He is the co-founder and former chair of ForestAction Nepal (2000), and a founder of Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (2011). He has served at the University of Melbourne and the University of New South Wales.
He has co-edited a book Adaptive Collaborative Approaches in Natural Resource Governance (2013) from Routledge. He has published widely on forest governance, climate change, food security, and international development.
