Hsinchao Wu

Hsinchao Wu is a cultural sociologist. She is currently an adjunct assistant professor at Indiana University, Bloomington.

Dr Wu’s research focuses on change and continuity of Chinese cultural heritage in a rapid economic transition period. She examines how the cultural past enables local people to survive and prosper in a new economy; and she is also interested in how the state appropriates the cultural past to stabilise regimes in rapidly changing times.
