Huw Pohlner

Huw Pohlner is a water resource management and Asia engagement specialist. He is a Senior Consultant at Aither, a leading Australian water economics and policy advisory firm. Huw leads development of Aither’s international business and has managed projects in Mexico, Senegal, Jordan, Iran and the Philippines. He has worked with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to produce several major reports for the UN / World Bank High Level Panel on Water.

Huw holds an MPhil in Geography and the Environment from the University of Oxford, where he studied on a General Sir John Monash Scholarship, and a Masters of Law, Governance and Development and Bachelor of Philosophy in Asian Studies (Hons) from the Australian National University. Huw’s work on China’s South-North Water Transfer megaproject has been published in Global Environmental Change.

Huw is a co-founder of the Australia-China Youth Association (ACYA) and has extensive experience in research, policy analysis and project management, having previously worked for Asialink, China Policy and the ANU.
