Ian Yule

Ian Yule is Professor in Precision Agriculture at Massey University in Palmerston North where he has been working for 17 years. He is an engineer by training and education and holds a PhD from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in England where he worked previously.

Professor Yule has tended to work in applied areas such as pasture measurement and soil mapping which have the potential to benefit farmers. Through his work in pasture measurement and precision agriculture he has developed a strong interest in remote sensing and understanding how it can be harnessed to improve farm performance and nutrient use efficiency.
