Dr Jenny Munro is an anthropologist and Senior Lecturer in the University of Queensland’s School of Social Science.

Her research focuses on health and health care in eastern Indonesia, West Papua, and Papua New Guinea, particularly HIV and reproductive health. For example, she investigates how global health interventions affect local political and health care configurations. Her reasearch also reflects on how racism intersects with alcohol consumption and beliefs about the body and is interested in family policy and health care, particularly antenatal care and childbirth. Some of jenny’s work has explored the ‘dark side’ of education by looking at the experiences of young people living away from home for schooling.
