Dr Jing Wang is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Sociology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
During 2013-14, she completed a collaboration project with the Social Policy Research Centre at the University of New South Wales on the question: Is community based social service delivery in China to be shaped by social organization? This project was supported by The United Nations Research Institute for Social Development.
From 2014 to 2015, Dr Wang worked as a visiting scholar in the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie and Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall AG in Germany. Currently, she is participating in a collaboration with the Institute of Development Studies (UK) on a project into ‘Technology Innovation and Social Life’. Her research interests include social stratification and social welfare. Dr Wang’s articles have been published in Asia & The Pacific Policy Studies and the Journal of Sociology, among others. She is also serves as Deputy Secretary-General in the Chinese Social Welfare Association.
