Kathleen Buckingham

Kathleen Buckingham is a Research Associate for the Global Restoration Initiative in the Forests Program at the World Resources Institute based in Washington DC. Prior to joining WRI, Kathleen lived in China for 5 years and has experience working in Kuwait and India. Kathleen holds a DPhil (PhD) in Geography and the Environment from the University of Oxford, MSc Environmental Sustainability from the University of Edinburgh, Certificate in Advanced Chinese from Beijing Language and Culture University and BA Fine Art from London Guildhall University.

Kathleen is the author of a number of peer reviewed articles, including Diplomats and Refugees: Panda Diplomacy, Soft “Cuddly” Power, and the New Trajectory in Panda Conservation and Can’t See the (Bamboo) Forest for the Trees: Examining Bamboo’s Fit Within International Forestry Institutions amongst others.
