Lachlan Walmsley is completing his PhD in the School of Philosophy at The Australian National University. His research focuses on scientific models and simulations. It considers the trade-offs between complexity and comprehensiveness on the one hand and simplicity and comprehensibility on the other.
Lachlan’s policy interests primarily revolve around environmental management and food security in the face of climate change.
Lachlan holds an MRes in Philosophy from Macquarie University and a BA from the University of Wollongong. He hopes to one day be appointed to an off-world university.
