Manqing Cheng is a PhD researcher in politics and international relations at University of Auckland and was previously a visiting researcher with The New Zealand Centre at Peking University.

Previously, she studied a Masters in International Affairs from Pennsylvania State University. Mangqing has also been an economic affairs Researcher at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).
