Maria Syed

Maria Syed is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Arab and Islamic Studies, The Australian National University and a Visiting Fellow at King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

She is researching “Interdependence between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the Formative Phase”.

Earlier she has worked as a Research Fellow at Islamabad Policy Research Institute, Pakistan for several years and has been published in research journals and newspapers. She is Alumna of Near East South Asia Centre, National Defense University, United States.

She has also been a Nuclear Noproliferation Fellow at James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, Monterey Institute of International Studies, California and a Visiting Fellow at Cooperative Monitoring Center, Sandia National Laboratories, New Mexico, United States.

She holds MPhil in International Relations from Iqra University, Islamabad and MSc in Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan.
