Marie McAuliffe is the head of the migration policy research division in the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Geneva, Switzerland. She is a Sir Roland Wilson Scholar at ANU School of Demography and a Senior Fellow at the Graduate Institute’s Global Migration Centre in Geneva.
Marie has published and edited widely on migration and displacement in academic and policy spheres. She is the chief editor of IOM’s flagship World Migration Report – in 2018 with Professor Martin Ruhs and in 2020 with Professor Binod Khadria – and has written an ANU Press book with Professor Khalid Koser on irregular migration titled A Long Way to Go.
For three years Marie directed the Australian irregular migration research program. She completed her PhD at ANU in 2017 and is the 2018 recipient of the Charles Price Prize for outstanding doctoral research in migration studies.
