Professor Mark Evans (PhD) is Director of Democracy 2025 and Professor of Governance at the Institute for Governance and Policy Analysis. He was formerly Director of the World-wide Universities Public Policy Network, Vice President of the Joint University Council for the Applied Social Sciences, Head of Politics at the University of York in the United Kingdom and Dean of the Faculty of Business, Government and Law at the University of Canberra.
Mark has played an international role in supporting change governance practices and has acted as a senior policy advisor, and managed research and evaluation projects for 26 countries, the European Union, United Nations and the World Bank.
His latest book (with Gerry Stoker) is Social Science and Evidence based Policymaking – Methods that Matter (Policy Press, 2016). He is the editor of the international journal Policy Studies and has been awarded honorary positions with the universities of Gadjah Mahda, Renmin, York and Hull.
