Dr Mark Harrison is Senior Lecturer in Chinese Studies in the School of Humanities at the University of Tasmania.
Prior to his position in Tasmania, he was a Research Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Democracy at the University of Westminster in London, UK.
His work addresses cultural politics and political cultures in the Chinese-speaking world with a particular focus on Taiwan. He is the author of Legitimacy, Meaning and Knowledge in the Making of Taiwanese Identity (Palgrave Macmillan, 2006) and numerous other articles and book chapters about Taiwan.
Dr Mark Harrison is a previous president of the Chinese Studies Association of Australia and sits on the management group of the Australian Centre on China in the World at The Australian National University.
