Melchizedek Maquiso is a Master in Public Policy (MPP) graduate student at the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. He is currently working on his dissertation about the evolving nature of the Philippines’ energy security policy. He plans to pursue a PhD thereafter and work for either an NGO, think-tank or the academe.

He obtained his bachelor degrees in political science and philosophy from York University in Canada and San Beda College in Manila, Philippines respectively. He previously worked as a journalist in northern Mindanao covering diverse issues ranging from local politics, communist insurgencies and the occasional ‘slice of life’ stories.
