Monica Howlett is a doctoral student at the Demography Department, Berkeley. She was previously a research officer at the Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research (CAEPR), at The Australian National University.

Her most recent work involved modelling neonatal mortality for all UN-member countries using a Bayesian hierarchical model.

Before Monica worked at CAEPR she was a senior analyst at the Reserve Bank of Australia.
