Muhamad Arif

Muhamad Arif is Researcher at The Habibie Center’s ASEAN Studies Program. He obtained his MSc in Strategic Studies from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Singapore. His Bachelor degree was awarded by the Department of International Relations, University of Indonesia.

He is now also a lecturer at the University of Indonesia, co-teaching courses of Revolution in Military Affairs, International Security Institutions, and Indonesian Defense Strategy. Arif was a Program Officer for Defense and Security Studies at PACIVIS-Center for Global Civil Society Studies and Graduate Student Research Assistant at the RSIS’ Malaysia Programme.

His research interests include International Relations Theories, International Security and Defense Studies, Foreign Policy-Making and Indonesian Civil-Military Relations. Arif regularly shares his thoughts on these issues on national TVs and newspapers as well as workshops and seminars.
