Nicola Rivers

Nicola Rivers is Director of Advocacy and Research at Environmental Justice Australia, a not-for-profit public interest legal practice specialising in environmental law.

Her work on EJA’s clean air campaign has seen her engaging with grassroots environmental groups and local communities around Australia to protect our right to clean air. She is also EJA’s advocacy on a range of issues such as climate and water law, and national biodiversity laws.

Nicola has previously worked as a lawyer and policy officer with the Federal Government and the Western Australian Government advising on international marine policy, climate change, water and criminal law; and as the remote rural and regional solicitor at the Environmental Defender’s Office in Western Australia.

Nicola is also an adviser to the Australian Panel of Experts on Environmental Law and has recently completed a Master’s Degree at Melbourne University.
