Prof. Pieter Nel has various degrees in Business and Management including a Doctorate. He currently holds the position of professor of Human Resource and Strategic Management at Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. He was also the former Head of the then School of Management and Entrepreneurship at the same institution.

He has published numerous refereed articles in accredited journals and also written 16 books as author and co-author as well as 25 research reports. He has consulted in the fields of human resource and management development, small business management, cross-cultural management and strategy for more than 35 years in various countries. He has also been a visiting Scholar at various universities in Belgium, Holland and the USA during his career.
