Ragul Palanisami is a PhD candidate at the United States Studies Programme at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)’s School of International Studies in New Delhi. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the University Grants Commission of India.
He was an intern at the Kalinga Institute of Indo-Pacific Studies in Bhubaneswar, India and has a Bachelor’s in Information Technology from Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai, and a Master’s degree in International Relations from JNU. He wrote his dissertation on American trade policy toward China with its focus on the issue of trade deficit.
His research interests include United States domestic politics and foreign policy, the political economy of East Asia, United States-China trade relations, and the geopolitics of Indo-Pacific.
He has written for online forums like International Policy Digest, E-International Relations, Modern Diplomacy, Eurasian Review, and Ceylon Today, among others.
