The Venerable Rod Bower is Archdeacon of the Central Coast in New South Wales and an ambassador for the Refugee Council of Australia.

He is an advocate for causes as diverse as Climate Change, Asylum Seekers and Marriage Equality.

He has been the Rector of Gosford for sixteen years.

As Chairman of the Board of Lakes Grammar – An Anglican School  – Fr Rod combines his experience in governance with his passion for education and the development of contributive citizenship.

His strong commitment to secular democracy has seen him reach beyond the doctrines of the Anglican Church to advocate for Marriage Equality and to oppose Special Religious Education in public schools.

Fr Rod has been highly critical of government policies that lack a foundation of compassion and deny basic human rights, this includes, perhaps most of all, the right to live in a healthy sustainable environment.
