Sango Mahanty

Sango Mahanty is a Professor at Crawford School of Public Policy and leads the school’s Resources, Environment and Development Program.

Sango’s current work examines how communities and civil society are responding to dramatic processes of nature-society transformation or ‘rupture’. In cundoucting this research, she has collaborated with civil society and government in Australia and the Asia-Pacific. She is co-author and coeditor of several books, including Conservation and Development in Cambodia.
