Sango Mahanty is a Professor at ANU Crawford School of Public Policy.

Sango’s current work examines how communities and civil society are responding to dramatic processes of nature-society transformation or ‘rupture’. In conducting this research, she has collaborated with civil society and government in Australia and the Asia Pacific. She is co-author and coeditor of several books, including Conservation and Development in Cambodia.
