Sarah Percy is Associate Professor of International Relations at the University of Western Australia. She is a Non-Resident Fellow of the Royal Australian Navy’s Sea Power Centre and a Senior Associate of the Oxford Programme on the Changing Character of War.
Dr Percy’s research has focused on the privatisation of force, including mercenaries and private security companies. Her current research centres around piracy, counter-piracy, and Australia’s maritime security. She has presented her research on these topics to a range of audiences at universities around the world, as well as to the United Nations, the Royal Navy , the Royal Australian Navy, the Royal United Services Institute (London) and the International Institute for Strategic Studies (London).
