Sarayu Natarajan is a doctoral candidate at the King’s India Institute, King’s College London. Her research focuses on brokerage and electoral politics in Bangalore, India. Specifically, she works on understanding how internal migrants negotiate political relationships in the city and the formation of partisan preferences.
Previously, she was a student at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and the National Law School of India University Bangalore (NLSIU) and taught an elective seminar to final year students at the NLSIU in 2012.
In the past, she has worked at McKinsey and Company as a consultant, and in socially-focused venture funds (microfinance and education).
She enjoys Bharatanatyam (classical Indian dance), running and learning about handloom fabrics.
