Shangpo Hsieh is a Research Fellow at the Asian Institute for Impact Measurement and Management (AIIMM) at Taiwan’s National Central University, and teaches at the Chung Yuan Christian University and Soochow University. He is interested in governance, accountability and civil society, and recently explored the practices of impact measurement and management practices.
Shangpo received his PhD from the Australian National University, under scholarships granted by the Taiwan government and the Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange.
Taiwan and Indonesia are his primary geographic focus, and his research focuses include civil society organisations’ accountability initiatives in democratising contexts and the development of anti-corruption institutions. During his fieldwork in Indonesia, he was a Visiting Scholar at both the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and Universitas Paramadina.
