Dr Shangpo Hsieh is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the College of Social Sciences of the National Chengchi University. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at both the Department of Political Science of the National Defense University and also the General Education Center of the Chung Yuan Christian University.
He received his PhD from the Australian National University (ANU). Indonesia constitutes the primary geographic area of his interest, and his research focuses include civil society organisations’ accountability initiatives in democratising contexts, as well as the development of anti-corruption institutions.
He was a Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) as well as Universitas Paramadina in Indonesia. He currently keeps a close watch on nationalism in Asia, particularly Indonesia and Taiwan.
Dr Shangpo Hsieh was a holder of scholarships granted by both Taiwan government and The Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange.
