Dr Stephan Frühling is the Associate Dean (Education) at the ANU College of Asia & the Pacific. He is also an Associate Professor in the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre of the Coral Bell School of Asia-Pacific Affairs.

Dr Frühling’s research interests include Australian defence policy, nuclear weapons and NATO. He is the 2017 Fulbright Professional Scholar in Australia-America Alliance Studies at Georgetown University in Washington DC, and was the 2015 ‘Partner across the globe’ research fellow in the Research Division of the NATO Defense College in Rome. He was also a member of the Australian Government’s External Panel of Experts on the 2016 Defence White Paper.
