Wing-Sie Cheng is Regional Adviser, HIV and AIDS with UNICEF, covering East Asia and the Pacific. She has held various positions for UNICEF in Asia for over 20 years and has taken on special assignments with UNAIDS and UNICEF New York.
Ms Cheng specialises in policy analysis, and research-based behaviour change programmes for public health. She has provided technical assistance on the strategic use of communication to change public attitudes, tackle public resistance and induce change in child and adolescent health practices in China, India, Nepal and other countries. Ms Cheng has written a number of papers that examine the successful diffusion of knowledge and practices at national, sub-national and community level that contribute to the reduction of child morbidity and mortality.
Ms Cheng has a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from the National University of Singapore.
