Dr Ying Xu is a Lecturer at Crawford School of Public Policy, The Australian National University. She is also a Research Associate at the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA), The Australian National University.

Ying’s main research areas are banking, finance and international economics. Her research papers have been published in top journals such as Journal of Banking and Finance and Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money. 

Ying has also been a visiting scholar in the China Centre for Economic Research (CCER) in Beijing and Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) in Jakarta.

Before commencing her academic career, she worked as a Researcher in Nissho Iwai Research Institute, a private business think tank in Japan, and as a Research Associate in the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), an international organization.
