Many Overseas NGOs in China have now conducted their registrations successfully; however, registration is clearly not the ultimate goal, but only a first step. The primary concern has now become how to better conduct activities in China under the new legal framework.
China Development Brief is going to bring Overseas NGOs into contact with experts who have a rich experience of smoothly conducting operations in China. In the morning, we’ll focus on experiences shared on the strategic level. Guest speakers for this part will include Dr. Liao Hongtao, Director of the China program in Oxfam Hong Kong; Mr. Haider Yaqub,Chief Delegate of Plan International China; Mr. Chen Taiyong, Director of the Sichuan Haihui Poverty Alleviation Service Center. In the afternoon we’ll focus more on the practical operations of Overseas NGOs in China, with guest speakers including: Ms. Wang Kun Yu of the World Resources Institute, Meng Lan, CFO of the American Chamber of Commerce in China, Ms. Liu Ziping, Director of human resources of Kerry Group Kuok Foundation(Hong Kong) Beijing Office and a guest from a pending institution. The Kerry Group Kuok Foundation was registered in the Ministry of Civil Affairs and are now sponsored by public security departments and all guests have rich experience of smoothly conducting operations in China. The workshop will focus on institutional development strategies and experience-sharing related to practical operations, against the backdrop of the Overseas NGO Management Law coming into effect last January. If you have any related questions please bring them to our workshop. We are looking forward to your participation!
