In December 2016, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government formulated a new comprehensive four-year plan called “New Tokyo. New Tomorrow. The Action Plan for 2020″. The Action Plan charts the course to the future to create the “New Tokyo” by realizing the three new faces of our city, “Safe City”, Diversity(“Diverse City”) and “Smart City” of Tokyo from the perspective of placing the Tokyo citizens first. A “Smart City” is a vibrant city that keeps growing, a city open to the world, a city leading the world in environmental policies, and a global financial and economic center.
In this presentation, we would like to introduce our policies and activities to be what we called “Environmental and Global Financial City Tokyo”, one of the goals of “Smart City”.
