This presentation will, first of all, summarise the development and current situation of research on the quality of life in China. It will then introduce a survey on subjective quality of life conducted in Wuhan City. It will consider the and theoretical framework and methodology of this research. Finally, it will explore perspectives of studies on the quality of life in China.

About the Speaker

Changcheng Zhou, PhD, is the Luojia Distinguished Professor of Wuhan University and the Director of Center for Quality of Life Studies at Wuhan University. His research interests include economic sociology, social development and quality of life, and the sociology of transitional societies.

To allow for informal discussion, the seminar will be followed by a dinner with the guest speaker at 6:15pm. The location of the restaurant will be announced at the seminar.
