The U.S.-Japan alliance and rapid change on the Korean Peninsula

On March 2 and 3, 2020, RAND will host a two-day conference focused on the U.S.-Japan alliance and the Korean Peninsula. The event will feature keynote presentations by former U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Kathleen Stephens (2008–2011) and former U.S. Forces Korea Commanding General Vincent K. Brooks (2016–2018). In addition, American and Japanese experts will present their assessments of where events are heading and the implications for the U.S.-Japan alliance of the rapidly evolving situation on the Korean Peninsula.
