That way, the local people can use it to buy things from the local oligarchy and you can help create even greater billionaires who look down their noses at their fellow countrymen but won’t spend a cent of their vast fortunes to help them.

If you really want to help, you can support regime change right at home by electing politicians who will stop doing business with nations run by corrupt oligarchies.

Libya or Iraq have been a social paradise: free school, free housing, free health care, work for everybody – but only few really work, others only have been visiting working place if they have such wish. I have been in these countries many times so it is my personal experience. The problem was and till is there – young generation have enough food, TV and computers given them by state but no real work, no struggle to achieve real aim worth civilizational challenge of our times. Tribal divisions plus Salafis are giving them such dream, meaning to their life otherwise wasted at TV screen. Solution is in creating industry of their own – adopting deserts to agriculture – once Libya was corn basket of Imperial Rome. Instead of oil, agriculture but is West ready to abandon Libyan oil?
