IN FOCUS: REFUGEE WEEK

Climate refugees in focus

Migration, displacement, and movement brought on by climate change.

As the global community focuses on the struggles refugees face this Refugee Week, we must also recognise that a new migration crisis is swelling in several parts of the world. As the world warms and sea levels rise, waves of people are facing forced displacement. Climate change-related events are occurring more frequently than ever, and more communities are having to battle a torrent of obstacles on their quest to safety. The first hurdle? International recognition.

Policy Forum has launched this special section on climate refugees as part of our commitment to inform robust, scholarly, and relevant policy debate. We hope you find this section interesting and informative, and we encourage you to join the conversation.
