It frustrates me that the CEO’s of our financial sectors are not accountable for their mismanagement, while as you state, real lives are being affected (and we have a trough cop on the beat if our ‘current’ PM is to be believed). If I recollect correctly, the FOFA rules had stated something to the effect that ‘financial advisers had to work in the best interest of the client”. As if that wasn’t obvious – that it needed to be said is telling in itself. I think the reforms in the Abbott era took this clause away (I could stand corrected however).
